1931 Ford Model AAdded 8/4/2007 Picked up the '31 yesterday. Covered with dust and grime from the shop, but BOY did she sound GOOD! The seat has been moved rearward about 6" so I fit comfortably now, new wiring, new gauges, awesome looking and LOUD headers and no more stereo (at my request). First thing I did was take the car home and clean and polish her up. Saturday morning I got up early and drove to my first car show in Grand Prairie called "Hot Cakes and Hot Rods" put on by a local cub scout pack (I was hungry when I got up). I brought home my first car trophy to boot - just for being a participant! On the way home from the car show, I stopped at a local custom stereo shop and picked up a recessed tray that fit nicely in the empty hole in the dash where the stereo used to be - now I have a glove box. When you look at the pictures below you'll see a hole behind the passenger side of the car on top of the right rear fender. This was the fuel filler hole for a "behind-the-seat" gas tank. This tank was never used because this car utilizes a fuel cell in the trunk. The unused tank was removed to gain space for the seat relocation. I'm modifying the old chrome fuel cap so that it will plug this hole and still look like a fuel filler. I went around the car and took a bunch of pictures today for the website.
