The only things I would do different would be to use flat black paint and have a red and white checkerboard firewall. The flattie in this car is an early version with a 21 stud head, notice that the water pickup tubes on the heads are located in the center. The '49 8BA motor that I have has a 24 stud head with water pickup tubes located at the front of the heads.
