1931
Ford Model A

Here is the latest Friday update!

This is what used to support the rear of the transmission on the '31.
Kinda flimsy isn't it.

This is the new rear transmission support that we fabbed up today. Nice
and beefy isn't it!

This is the tranny support after the high dollar Rust-Oleum paint job.

I got this hood for free from Eddie in Shreveport. While Bill was busy
fabricating the tranny support, Hugh III and I were trimming
the hood to fit my '31. This is the only fiberglass piece on the entire
car. The frame and body of my '31 is genuine 1931 Henry
Ford Model A tin.

We measured the rear suspension one more time and made sure it lined up with the
front suspension, tightened everything up and
took the '31 out on the road for a test spin today. The freshly overhauled
tranny shifts great, the car tracked straight on the road,
the brakes stopped the car really good and the new coil over rear suspension is
MUCH smoother riding than the old air shock suspension.

Bill is making a final adjustment before bolting the new hood down.

Bill has been busy on the interior during the week when I'm not there.
Check out the new toe board over the firewall and the
freshly installed carpet.

Bill enhanced my Dynamat install with more heat and sound shield. You
can't have too much heat and sound deadening material.

Another interior shot showing the new bits and pieces.

Check out the rear tranny support now that it's all finished up.

With the tranny sitting on the jack up until this point, we never got a chance
to paint the tranny oil pan. After this shot was taken I
climbed back under the car with a wire wheel and cleaned and painted the tranny
pan to match the rest of the freshly painted parts.
