4-23-09 Update
The truck is heading to Weezer's shop today where it will live until it's rebirth!
The plan for now is to repair the rusted out body panels and then transplant them onto a more modern platform using a kit from E-Z Chassis Swaps (http://e-zchassisswaps.com/). All I have to do after purchasing the kit is to locate a suitable donor vehicle which will be a '73-'87 Chevy or GMC short wheelbase pickup truck. This will give me a modern chassis with a Chevy 350, transmission, rear-end, independent front suspension, front disk, rear drums and I also keep the wiring harness from the donor truck. Remember, the plan is to turn the '55 into my daily driver.

This is how all good restoration projects should begin!

This is Kenny (a fellow Air Traffic Controller). Kenny volunteered his
Tahoe and a tow dolly
for the move from my house to Weezer's shop.

We consumed a beer apiece, filled up the tires with air and proceeded to push
the '55 up onto the tow dolly.

We had to enlist some help from Shawn (another car nut & Air Traffic Controller)
for the big shove
onto the trailer (I was behind the wheel)

The '55 now waits it's turn inside the shop. It sits next to Weezer's
Bonneville convertible and Olds Toronado.
