The donor truck has arrived.
FrankenChevy has begun.
I just picked up a 1985 Chevy 1/2 ton Silverado that will be used for the running gear for the '55 project. It has a 350 engine, 350 transmission and all the goodies that make a vehicle safe to drive like front disk brakes and independent front suspension. I'll spend my time rebuilding the brakes and suspension and then selling off the body panels while I'm waiting for shop space to open up at Weezer's Garage.
The price was right because the body is a P.O.S.
I made sure that the frame was straight (at least by my eyeballs) and rust free
because that's the main reason
I'm doing this project.
Anybody want to buy a longbed to convert to a trailer?
A nice little Chevy 350 with a performance cam and less than 10,000 miles since
rebuild sweetened the deal for me.
